Black cabs transformed into mobile booths where Londoners can ‘Sound Off’ for Justice
Three London black cabs have been transformed into mobile ‘sound-off’ booths equipped with Apple iPads and iPhones so that Londoners can voice their opinions about the government’s plans to remove vital Legal Aid support from millions of Britons.
Created by Sound Off For Justice to help raise awareness, propose alternative reforms and give Londoners a chance to have their say, the three taxis will tour the capital for five days from Monday 16th May to Friday 20th May, offering passengers the chance to sound off while travelling across central London. The Sound Off For Justice taxis begin their tour of duty at 08.00am on Monday 16th May and will cover Zones 1 and 2.
Each cab will be equipped with both an Internet capable Apple 3G iPad and iPhone 4, so busy Londoners can easily sign our online petition or join our unique voicemail protest. These voice messages will then be sent to Justice Secretary, Kenneth Clarke, asking him to re-think legal aid cuts that will leave millions of Britons without access to justice and a voice in court.
The three mobile protest booths will carry the distinctive Sound Off For Justice logo of lady justice armed with a megaphone, along with the campaign’s colours of red, black and white. A concierge, who’ll be able to inform passengers on how to use the devices and join the online petition, will accompany each cab. Passengers will be rewarded for their soundoffs with complimentary cab rides.
We will be providing updates on each cab’s location all throughout the week on our Twitter page.
